WARM SEASON GRASSES

FORAGE SORGHUM

NOTICE: From time to time, supplies of Certified Organic Seed run out. When this occurs, we use the organic seeds (in a mixture) that we still have and then use Untreated non-GMO seed for the remainder of the mixture. We will then issue a non-GMO letter upon request.

Forage sorghum for silage, planted in rows like corn, is causing lots of excitement. With 30% less input cost and 30% greater water efficiency, the excitement is understandable. But add to that high NDFD and no yield drag compared to corn. Nothing short of amazing.

And because we think the quality and yield of Alta products are unmatchable, we've added three Alta products to our lineup. Because only one, AF7101, is available in organic, we added two untreated options as well.

Farmers using corn binders should use the brachytic dwarf options, AS7102 & AS7401 to avoid lodging issues in windy years. AF7401 recorded yields over 30 tons in 2013. We don't know of any other BMR 6 sorghum that will yield like this.
